Ferno support Overgate Hospice Charity Golf Day

For the past four years, Ferno have been invited to attend the annual charity golf day at Bradley Hall Golf Club. Halifax.  Once again this year our Operations Director – Alan Clark (on the right of the photograph) attended on behalf of Ferno.

This event was held on Friday 20th June and is held annually in aid of the Overgate Hospice, who provide specialist palliative care for the people of Calderdale living with a life limiting illness. The charity’s philosophy of care is for the whole person, their family, friends and carers and we have been privileged to meet several of their helpers over the years. 

The golf day raises much-needed funds for the charity, with last year’s event raising well over £10,000.  Our invitation to attend came from Ferno’s consultant patent and trademark attorney; Hugh Sherrard-Smith (on the left of the attached photograph) who has helped protect Ferno products over many years.    

The golf day is a friendly competition held with teams of three playing over 18 holes. It is open to both ladies and men.  This year’s Appleyard Lees team comprised of Alan, Hugh and Lubra who is the the wife of one of the attorneys.

They had a great round of golf scoring 69 points under Stableford rules over the 18 holes and finishing with a good chance of winning one of the many prizes.  The later teams were still playing when they finished their round so the jury is still out regarding the final results……who knows, we may have a winning team in the making!  We will keep you posted!
