The 10 mile walk around Kirklees, starts and finishes at the John Smith’s Stadium. The walk starts at midnight on the longest day of the year. All who walk are doing so in memory of someone near and dear to them who is no longer with us.
Penny lost both her mum and dad over the past few years and both her mum and dad spent their last days at Kirkwood Hospice. If you look closely at Penny’s official “Midnight Memory Walk” T-shirt in the above picture, you will notice that the T-shirt includes photos of Penny’s parents. This walk is therefore something close to Penny’s heart as all funds raised go to Kirkwood Hospice.
Ladies – we hope you enjoy the walk and we bet you are looking forward to the bacon butty and hot drink supplied to each walker by the organisers at the end of the 10 mile challenge.
