Brian to lead 2012 American Red Cross Heroes campaign

Congratulations to Brian Bourgraf, one of our colleagues across the Pond in the US, who has been appointed to lead the 2012 American Red Cross Heroes campaign. Brian is the Clinton County chair for the organisation.
The Heroes of the American Red Cross fundraising campaign for 2012 is an eight-week campaign that starts with the Heroes Awards Breakfast next week at the Roberts Centre north of Wilmington.
Money raised through the Heroes Campaign supports critical disaster relief, assistance to military families, and lifesaving courses that teach CPR, first aid and the use of the Automated External Defibrillator. In 2011, the Clinton and Highland County DAT team volunteers responded to 31 disaster incidents and assisted 105 clients. More than $17,260 in assistance was given for military and disaster relief efforts.
Through the Holiday Mail for Heroes program, over 3,380 cards were sent to members of the military and their families. Last year the Red Cross touched over 5,800 people in Clinton and Highland County with disaster, military, and health and safety services.
Brian (pictured) tells us: "I accepted the role of co-chair once again because I believe in the American Red Cross and what it does to aid the residents of Clinton and Highland counties. I have been involved with Red Cross efforts for many years now and I continue to play an active role in the organisation locally because I feel it is such a worthy cause to support. We hope to have a successful campaign this year to enable us to continue to give back."
Brian, vice president of Community Relations at Ferno-Washington, and has been with us since  1990 and lives in Wilmington with his wife, Cathy.
