Today RLSS are introducing the new Ferno Pool Extraction board at Leisure Industry Week at the NEC.

 

Developed collectively by Ferno and the RLSS, the new board can be operated by just 2 lifeguards for the safe, quick and effective immobilisation and extraction of casualties from a range of pools.

Ferno Slovakia on the Map

Slovakia Manufacturing s.r.o was established back in 2001 and the company is based in Bošáca, Slovakia.

Ferno continuously review the organisational structure within Ferno Group and it has been determined that now is the right time to make a name change to Ferno Slovakia s.r.o to bring the company name in line with other group operations around the world. At the same time, Silvia Vancova will be appointed as Managing Director effective from 1 October 2014, which is reward for the wonderful job that she has done over recent years in leading the company and enhancing performance.

Ferno Slovakia staff enjoyed a purpose made cake to celebrate these changes, I wouldn’t have minded a slice myself!

Bob McNaughton giving up his Calculator

Bob McNaughton who is a Partner of BDO, Leeds has decided to retire from today. Bob previously worked for PKF, Leeds and transitioned over to BDO during the merger just over two years ago. Bob has been the audit partner for the Ferno UK account for the past 10 years and is well known within our organisation.

To thank Bob for all the work he has done over the years with Ferno UK, we treated Bob to a meal of his choice to celebrate his retirement and the restaurant he favoured was Sous Le Nez, Leeds. I must say it was a great choice and we presented Bob with a retirement gift and card on behalf of all his friends at Ferno UK.

 

 

We wish Bob all the best for his retirement and we are sure he will now find enough time to do more cycling and travelling which we know are just a couple of his hobbies. Time to get rid of the calculator Bob, and please stay in touch!

 

Ferno UK sponsors the Town Foundation Chairman’s Lunch

The Town Foundation Chairman’s lunch took place at the Cedar Court Hotel, Ainley Top, Huddersfield on Friday 26 September 2014 where there was around 200 guests in attendance at the event. Ferno invited some of their business partners, customers and suppliers to join employees on the Ferno table. On the day there was a unique Boardroom setting where a number of key people from the football sector were accompanied by Sean Jarvis, HTAFC Commercial Director and Dean Hoyle, HTAFC Chairman on stage for a questions and answer forum.

The event raised a large amount of money on the day through guest donations followed by an auction of some memorabilia items which will all help towards providing opportunities for children in the local area either through school breakfast clubs or trips to the seaside. As mentioned by Mandy Taylor; every penny donated goes towards helping young children, no administration costs are deducted.

Ferno UK would like to thank everyone involved in putting the event together for such a great cause, looking forward to the next one!

We remember 911

We at Ferno (UK) Ltd. would like to remember almost 3,000 innocent people who lost their lives in the "911 attacks" on 11th September 2001. May they rest in peace.

Thank you to our guests for taking part in the creation of the Ferno Timeline.

We would like to thank some former Ferno UK employees who gave up their valuable time in retirement to travel to Ferno House on the 3^rd September and take part in the filming of the Ferno “timeline video and history book”.

This project means a great deal to everyone at Ferno and we believe it will be a wonderful legacy for anyone who has been involved in shaping and making Ferno the company it is today. Filming has also recently taken place in Norway and Germany with the project coming together nicely under the leadership of Heather Martin, History & Culture Curator / Public Relations Director at Ferno Washington Inc. 

Ferno and the Bourgraf family are particularly grateful to those former employees, who gave up their personal time to help us with this valuable project. 

We value the contribution that each of our former employees have given to Ferno over the years and we wish them all the best in their retirement.

National Ambulance Clinical and Patient Safety Conference

Today (Wednesday 10th September) Ferno (UK) Ltd. is attending and sponsoring the National Ambulance Clinical and Patient Safety Conference at Villa Park in Birmingham.

We had to grab the opportunity to get pictures when Founder and Chairman of Ferno, Elroy and his son President & CEO, Joe Bourgraf, came to visit us from America to open our ‘Customer Experience Centre’. When they asked “how do you want us?” Victoria said “how about a hug?”!!

Visit from Patron 

On Monday 8th & Tuesday 9th September we were delighted to welcome our friends and colleagues from Patron in Ireland. Patron are Ferno's distributors in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Visiting us from Patron were Ronnie McPartland (Group Managing Director) and Ger Smullen (Service Director). Ferno UK Celebratory Barbecue - 4th September 2014 

On Thursday 4th September, following the official opening of our Customer Experience Centre, we held a celebratory barbecue for all our hard working staff here at Ferno House. We got lucky with the weather and there was plenty of delicious food laid on. We enjoyed the wonderful barbecue, ably served up by our three intrepid chefs - Roy, Peter and Ashley. Thanks guys. We also want to thank Suki for the delicious samosas she made to help us celebrate. A good time was had by all. Thanks to all our staff here at Ferno House for all their hard work. We have a great team. 

Ferno UK Customer Experience Centre – Official Opening 

We are proud to announce that our new Customer Experience Centre (CEC) here at Ferno House was officially opened today. 

The CEC was created to bring our innovative products to life in a visually stimulating and immersive environment. The state–of-the-art facility will be used for interactive demonstrations, seminars, training and customer education.

The centre which has been in development for more than 12 months, was officially opened by the Founder and Chairman of Ferno, Elroy Bourgraf, and our President & CEO, Joe Bourgraf, both of whom were visiting from the USA. Also visiting from the USA was Ferno’s Vice-President of International Sales – Gary Hiles and History & Culture Curator / Director of Public Relations – Heather Martin. All our staff based here at Ferno House attended the opening and we were also honoured to welcome Councillors Ken & Christine Smith - the Mayor and Mayoress of Kirklees and local MP Mike Wood. We were also joined by some of the many contractors who helped us realise our vision for the CEC.

Jon Ellis, Managing Director of Ferno (UK) Ltd., said: “It is a great honour that Elroy and Joe, made this visit to open the centre for us. We would also like to thank all our guests who helped us celebrate the opening of the CEC. We feel this is a unique story. We have a state-of-the-art centre which will be used to showcase some exciting future product innovations.”

Congratulations Miller & Tyler

 Miller and Tyler Ferris are the 17 year old twin daughters of our colleague Alan Ferris from Ferno Australia. They recently represented Australia in back to back competitions at the World Rowing Championships in Germany and then at the Youth Olympics in China. Ferno (UK) Ltd. were proud to contribute towards sponsorship for the girls to attend these world class rowing events. They arrived back home last Saturday after a trip of a lifetime, having handled themselves professionally on and off the water. They did exceptionally well in both competitions. They finished fourth in the B Final of the World Championships Women’s Fours (just being pipped for third by Russia). They also finished fourth in the Women’s Pairs B Final at the Youth Olympics. Well done ladies, we are sure you are very proud of your achievements.

Congratulations to Ferno Norden

Ferno (UK) Ltd. Managing Director, Jon Ellis is currently visiting our sister company Ferno Norden in Horten, Norway.  He is there to represent Ferno UK Ltd. as our colleagues at Ferno Norden celebrate the opening of their new building and their 35th year anniversary.
