Caring For You Pts takes delivery of EZ-Glide power chair

Left to right - Caring For You Pts Ltd Business Development Manager Nick Herbert; Caring For You Pts Ltd Director Carl Carter and Ferno’s Darren Sharman
Caring for You Pts Ltd, the patient transport service group, has taken delivery of an EZ-Glide PowerTraxx chair from Ferno.
The EZ-Glide chair had been designed to meet the demanding needs of medical and disaster response services and allows patients to be moved safely up and down stairs - find out more here.
Caring for You Pts Ltd is the first company in the UK to take delivery of the EZ-Glide chair. Its director Carl Carter says: “Our investment in the new EZ-Glide chair means that we can continue to deliver the highest standards of patient transfer ensuring the safe movement of patients as well as the well being of our staff.
“The EZ-Glide has a robust seat and can carry larger-than-average patients – which is particularly important as Britain’s growing obesity problem means that we are increasingly required to move patients with bariatric issues.”
Caring for you Pts Ltd was formed in 1995 and therefore has extensive experience in providing Non Emergency Patient Transport Services as well as providing the more specialist services for the movement of patients whilst delivering a modern patient transport service.
Ferno’s Jon Ellis says: This is the first chair of its kind in the industry. It has multiple uses as a stair chair, evacuation chair or transport chair, capable of maneuvering over kerbs and rough terrain, and comes with powered tracks that deploy easily to eliminate the need for lifting or carrying while ascending or descending stairs, reducing the risk of injury to medical staff.”

New critical care trolley for air ambulances during National Air Ambulance Week

Yorkshire Air Ambulance
We’ve launched a new Critical Care Transfer Trolley, specially adapted for use on aircraft including helicopters. Which is quite a co-incidence as this week is National Air Ambulance Week!
The CCT Trolley is adapted to carry all the life-supporting equipment necessary for safely transporting both pre- and post-operative heart patients as well as patients recovered from a life threatening accident by an air ambulance. The new trolley was designed and is manufactured at our Cleckheaton headquarters.
The trolley includes the latest technology to enable clinicians and paramedics to constantly monitor a patient’s condition, helping to ensure these vulnerable patients get the best possible care when they need it most.
It also enables ambulance and air ambulance crews to transfer patients quickly and easily with no need to disconnect vital life-supporting equipment, significantly reducing the risk of complications.
Nothing like this has been developed before and our research and development team at Cleckheaton has invested a lot of time and effort to deliver a product that specifically meets the needs of the air ambulance service which is a very exacting brief.
With the launch of our new CCT Trolley air ambulance paramedics and doctors now have access to all the life support systems most clinicians would associate with a hospital operating theatre or critical care ward. This means that more lives will be saved.
We works with several air ambulance services, NHS Ambulance Trusts and several private ambulance companies and we have a particularly close relationship with the Yorkshire Air Ambulance for which we have raised thousands of pounds.

Happy Yorkshire Day

As a proud Tyke company Ferno would like to wish everyone Happy Yorkshire Day!
Yorkshire Day is celebrated on August 1 to promote the historic English county of Yorkshire. It was celebrated in 1975, by the Yorkshire Ridings Society, initially in Beverley, as "protest movement against the Local Government re-organisation of 1974", The date alludes to the Battle of Minden, and also the anniversary of the emancipation of slaves in the British Empire in 1834, for which a Yorkshire MP, William Wilberforce, had campaigned.
The day was already celebrated by The Light Infantry, successors to the King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry, as Minden Day. Together with five other infantry regiments of the British Army, a rose is permitted to be worn in the headdress. In the case of the Light Infantry, the rose is white.
